Ole Melberg is the founder and Managing Partner of Energy Ventures - a leading venture capital company providing competent capital to high growth technology companies within the energy sector. Mr. Melberg has over 30 years of energy industry experience, including the position as CEO of Smedvig asa. Under Melberg’s leadership, Smedvig was built from a one-rig/one-activity company to a well reputed international marine contracting company listed on the OSE and NYSE.
Mr. Melberg has held advisory board positions with a number of key industry players. He holds a degree from the Norwegian School of Business Administration (NHH) and has completed INSEAD Top Management Programs.
Agnar Gravdal has10 years of experience in advanced ship design and nearly 30 years of experience from the offshore industry. Mr. Gravdal has held a number of top management positions for companies within the Aker and Kværner group.
From 1991 to 2001 he was CEO of the Umoe Group. Mr. Gravdal has also held several board positions in companies quoted on the Oslo Stock Exchange. He holds a Master Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from NTNU.
Kjell E. Jacobsen is a Partner of Energy Ventures.
Mr. Jacobsen is a former President, CEO and Board Member of Seadrill Management AS (Seadrill Ltd) and former CEO of the Norwegian offshore drilling contractor, Smedvig ASA. He was the managing director of the mobile units of Smedvig ASA, and has worked for Statoil and Citicorp Citibank in both Oslo and London.
Mr. Jacobsen is educated from the Norwegian Naval Academy, Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and INSEAD Advanced Management Program.
